The difference between image intensifier and flat panel detector

The flat-panel detector is a photoconductive semiconductor such as amorphous silicon or amorphous selenium, which directly converts the received X-ray photons into electric charges, and then the electrical signals are read out and digitized by the thin film transistor array.
Therefore, the difference between an image intensifier and a tablet is as follows,
The imaging area of the image intensifier is smaller than that of the flat panel detector.
The imaging of the image intensifier will have a certain degree of deformation, while the flat-panel detector has a good imaging definition and the image has no distortion.
The imaging contrast of image intensifiers is lower than that of flat panel detectors.
Through the above-mentioned difference between image intensifiers and flat panels, it is not difficult to see that the advantages of flat panel detection cannot be replaced by image intensifiers. And some of the shortcomings of image intensifiers are irreparable. It can be seen from the difference between image intensifiers and flat panels that with the development of imaging technology, image intensifiers will be gradually eliminated.
