Advantages and disadvantages of Medical detector

Medical detector is a kind of sophisticated and expensive equipment, which plays a decisive role in imaging quality
1. Prior to exposure, cation storage on the silicon surface is used to generate a uniform charge, resulting in an electronic field on the silicon surface.
2. During the exposure, electron-hole pairs are generated in silicon, and free electrons are free to the surface, resulting in potential charge images on the silicon surface. The charge density at each point is equivalent to the local X-ray intensity.

3. After exposure, the X-ray image is stored in each pixel;4. The semiconductor converter reads each element to complete the analog-to-digital conversion.
Advantages: 1. High conversion efficiency, wide dynamic range;2. High spatial resolution;3. High X-ray absorption rate in the low resolution region (because its atomic number is higher than amorphous selenium); 4. Adaptable to the environment.
Disadvantages: 1. DQE is not as good as amorphous selenium at high dose; 2.2. Slight scattering effect due to fluorescence conversion layer;3. The sharpness is slightly lower than that of amorphous selenium type.
